Frame Generation Options Expected To Release With The Latest GTA Online: Money Fronts Update

With the release of GTA 5 Enhanced on PC, the game added a bunch of PC-exclusive features. Features like expanded ray-tracing, Nvidia DLSS, and AMD FSR were some of the major additions to the game. However, one of the promised features that has been missing since the release of the GTA 5 Enhanced version is Frame Generation. But well, it looks like the feature is finally coming to the game very soon. Let’s take a detailed look at this feature!

What is Frame Generation?

Before moving forward, it’s important to understand what frame generation is and how it works. Well, in simple terms, this feature uses AI to generate entirely new frames. This happens in between two frames, bringing the total frame count to 3, and in theory, it also doubles the frame rate of the game you’re playing, if the feature has been enabled.

As seen in the image shared above, the difference in frame rate is quite huge when DLSS and Frame Generation are turned on. The feature was only available at launch for the Nvidia 4000 and 5000 series Graphics cards. However, later AMD also integrated the same feature, and since then, a wide variety of users have been able to use this feature.

But given the heavy utilisation of AI in the feature, newer Nvidia graphics cards with dedicated AI cores do perform better. Because of the advantage Nvidia carries with AI, their cards also have much less latency while using this feature. Combining it with their integration of low-latency features like Reflex just makes things a whole lot better for Nvidia users.

When does it come out?

Talking about GTA 5, though, now, during the release of the Enhanced edition of PC, Rockstar had stated that features like DLSS and FSR would be available on launch.  However, in the same statement, they also talked about the Frame Generation feature and said, “Frame Generation support planned for both at a future date”

Well, it looks like it will be rolling out soon with the latest GTA Online update. The major reason behind this is that it is going to be the first major feature update the game will get ever since the release of the Enhanced edition. In the update changelog, Rockstar has also mentioned some major gameplay updates with the Money Fronts update, so the chances of the addition of the PC-exclusive features like frame generation are quite high.
