The GTA franchise includes all of Rockstar’s best-selling titles. Well, it’s no surprise given the popularity of the games worldwide. In the latest Take-Two investor call, the company revealed some interesting sales numbers! Along with the franchise sales, they’ve also revealed that GTA 5 has sold over 215 million copies. Let’s take a detailed look at the report.
GTA 5 Lifetime Sales
The latest Take-Two Investor’s Call revealed that GTA 5 and Online have sold over 215 million copies. They also shared that the game has been the best-selling game for the past 10 years in the USA. These sales numbers make sense, given that they include all the versions of the game, released across multiple console generations.
The game was originally released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, with a later port to the PS4 and Xbox One in 2014. Back in 2022, another remaster for the game was released for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. The sales number also includes PC sales from digital storefronts like Steam, Epic Games Launcher, and the Rockstar Games Launcher.
Along with the lifetime sales number for GTA 5, Take-Two also revealed the sales number for the GTA Franchise. They revealed that the entire franchise has sold close to 450 million copies to date. Safe to say, GTA 5 and Online have been the biggest contributors to the franchise’s sales numbers.
