Unless you want to start a new game, the most important thing that needs to be done before you start playing the update is migrating your save game from the GTA 5 Legacy edition to the Enhanced edition. Thankfully, Rockstar has updated the legacy version, and it now has an option to upload your save file to Rockstar Cloud servers.

By uploading the save file, you’ll be able to access the file on the Enhanced edition, when you open it. However, one thing that you need to make sure of, is that this can only be done once, after you migrate a save file, you will not be able to use the feature again. Not only that, but you cannot migrate multiple save files, migrating only one save file is allowed.

How to remove FPS cap?

When the Enhanced edition was initially released, users were facing an issue where the frame rate was capped to 120fps. This cap was even present when frame limit was turned off in the settings. To tackle this issue, users had to use a line of command in the launch options for the launcher they were playing on.

However, Rockstar has now fixed this issue with an update to the game! They released patch notes on their Support website. So now, you can play the game without any cap to the frame rate. Just make sure that your game is running on the latest version before playing.

Where is In-Game Text Chat?

Users are disappointed by one thing, which is the removal of in-game text chat from the game. This feature is heavily used by GTA Online players to communicate with each other. However, according to Rockstar Support this feature will not be supported at launch.

A user asked about this on the Steam Forums, and this is the response the user got was, “In GTA V Enhanced, in-Game Text Chat will not be supported at launch. We recommend utilizing platform chat functionality or the game’s SMS feature as alternatives for communication with other players.”

Rockstar has acknowledged this, and they’ve cleared that while DLSS will be available from the launch. Support for Frame Generation will be added later. In their own words, “There is also support for AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS (with Frame Generation support planned for both at a future date)”
