Rockstar Games loves to drop some hidden references and easter eggs in their games! Because of this, the GTA community continues to remain active on certain fan theories. The Mount Chiliad mystery from GTA 5 still hasn’t been solved, and fans continue to look for more details. Well, Rockstar has yet again given the community a new easter egg to look out for. The latest GTA 6 Trailer featured a boat, and fans have been linking it to Michael’s boat from GTA 5. Let’s take a brief look and find out the mysteries of this boat.
Michael’s Boat in GTA 6 Trailer
If you’ve played GTA 5, then there’s a high chance you’d remember the mission “Father/Son”. Without going into much detail, here’s a summary. Jimmy, Michael’s son, tries to sell Michael’s boat. The deal goes wrong, and Jimmy, along with the boat, is captured by the buyers. While Michael and Franklin try their best to save them both, unfortunately, the boat gets left out.
This mission has given birth to the iconic GTA 5 meme “My Boat”, which is very popular among the community. It became so popular that the voice actor of Michael, Ned Luke, caught on with the meme and made fun of it too. A few months back, he made another video, where it is seen that Ned is on a boat, and he says he finally got his boat back!
Well, back to GTA 6. This new theory was first caught on by several members right after the trailer was dropped. During the opening sequence of the trailer, Jason is seen interacting with Brian, and right beside him, a boat is spotted. If you look closely, the boat does look very similar to Michael’s boat. Fans are still conflicted on this, as the colour scheme looks different. Michael’s boat had an orange strip, which is completely missing from this boat.
More Proofs
Now here’s something interesting. After the rumours about the boat were dismissed, because of the colour scheme, fans were quick enough to spot another detail. In the trailer, during the sequence where Phil Cassidy is introduced, if you notice very closely, a boat is also spotted. It’s visible in the photo frame, right next to the table. While it’s hard to make out because of the reflections, that boat looks very similar to Michael’s boat. Heck, it even follows the same colour scheme, it has the blue and orange strips from GTA 5.
We’ve pointed it out in the picture below to get a clearer idea:
It’s too early to say if that is Michael’s boat or not. But given the proofs shared, there’s a chance that it is likely his boat. Fans believe that Jason could be the one who bought the boat from the robbers in GTA 5. As for the colour scheme, he could have just gotten it repainted later on. We can’t say anything with complete certainty, only time will tell us that.
Michael’s Voice Actor Reacts
Ned Luke, the voice actor of Michael from GTA 5, was quick enough to respond to this news. Someone tweeted about the boat being back in GTA 6, and Ned replied to their tweet. He jokingly said, “I’m coming Jason…For my boat”. Ned also went live after Trailer 2 was released. He streamed his reaction to the trailer and shared his thoughts. Check out his stream below:
