Top 10 Easter Eggs Spotted in GTA 6 Trailer 2

Today we’re going to talk about some hidden easter eggs and references spotted in GTA 6 Trailer 2, its screenshots, and official artwork. For example, there are some easter eggs from GTA Vice City, characters from RDR2, and even Michael’s boat from GTA 5. So yeah, there’s a ton of cool stuff you’ll discover, just make sure to read till the end.

Red Dead Redemption 2 References

First up, in the new GTA 6 screenshots, there’s one scene where you can spot some dollar bills. Just like in real life, these have images of presidents on them. What’s surprising is that the dollar bills in GTA 6 feature presidents who were around during the time of Red Dead Redemption 2. You can see that the ten-dollar bill has a picture of President Thaddeus Waxman, who was president during the events of RDR2.

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

Meanwhile, the one-dollar bill has President Franklin Hardin, who became president before RDR2’s story. That’s why he also appears on the ten-dollar bills in RDR2. He was also seen on the hundred-dollar bills in the GTA Online The Contract update. So people are drawing two possible conclusions from this. Either RDR and GTA are part of the same universe, which many fans have believed for a long time, or these could be simple references or easter eggs.

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

There’s another RDR2 easter egg which was spotted by fans, where the weapons in GTA 6 are made by the same manufacturer as in RDR2. The name is Duke, and you can spot its logo on GTA 6 weapons too. Now this doesn’t necessarily mean both universes are connected, but it’s a cool easter egg.

License Plates

If you look at the license plates on the cars shown in the trailer, you’ll spot Leonida plates, since GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida. But there are also a few others, like one that says Gloriana, which might be the in-game version of Georgia. Then there’s a Liberty City plate, which you already know is GTA’s version of New York.

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

There’s even a license plate for US Government employees. So, people are speculating that we might get to see other states in the game, or maybe in future updates, especially since back in 2020, trusted insider Jason Schreier mentioned that GTA 6 would get expansions later on. But of course, it’s also possible that those plans have changed, and these plates are just there for world-building or decoration.

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

Fast and Furious References

There are quite a lot of references from the Fast and Furious universe in the latest trailer! First up, we get a reference to the iconic vault chase scene from Fast Five in the trailer. It’s one of the best scenes where a giant safe is dragged through the streets using cars.

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

Not only that, but some people believe that another scene from Trailer 2 might be inspired by Fast and Furious. In this moment, when another woman is fighting Lucia and we can see the landing gear of a plane, it instantly reminds fans of the plane fight scene from Fast and Furious 6. Rockstar has taken plenty of references from movies in past games, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this one is inspired too.

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

Vice City References

There are a few references to Vice City in the latest trailer. First up, it looks like Vice City’s Phil Cassidy might be returning in GTA 6, as the character does look similar and even has the same first name. But it can’t be the original Phil Cassidy because he lost one of his arms in a mission. So this is probably just a reference to him, or maybe a new character who looks and acts like him. You could say he’s the HD universe version of Phil.

Then you can also spot some outfits that look straight out of GTA Vice City. Raul Bautista is wearing a white suit that’s similar to Lance Vance’s. Brian is rocking a red shirt that gives off Ricardo Diaz vibes. And the palm tree shirt Jason is wearing looks a bit like Tommy Vercetti’s iconic outfit.

GTA 6 Biggest Launch

PlayStation Console

While most people have probably noticed by now, a PS5 parody console is placed next to the TV in the trailer. Some people even joked that it looks like a leaked design for the PS6. Right next to it, there’s also a controller that doesn’t look like the PS5’s DualSense, but more like the PS4’s DualShock. Now, this isn’t a big surprise, since Rockstar Games and PlayStation have had a long-standing partnership. But yeah, it also hints that we might be able to play some in-game games inside GTA 6.

Michael De Santa

You probably remember how Michael’s Boat got stolen in GTA 5, and that mission was both funny and iconic. Now, in GTA 6 Trailer 2, there’s a photo of that boat visible inside Jason and Lucia’s house. It’s probably just an easter egg. But what if the boat shown in this particular scene is Michael’s? Which is possible, since the games are likely to be connected. If that’s the case, it would be a really interesting continuation.

Another reference was spotted by a few fans, where Michael’s movie Meltdown was spotted in one of the videos released. For more information, you can check it out here: Fans Spot Another Reference To Michael In GTA 6

Lance & Tommy Rub Out

On the Rockstar Games’ website, there’s a video where Jason and Lucia are seen pulling guns out of a car trunk. This looks almost identical to a scene from GTA Vice City where Tommy and Lance grab weapons from the trunk. Yep, it’s from the mission called Rub Out, where they go to take out Ricardo Diaz.

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

Return of Mount Chiliad Mystery

We all know that GTA 5’s biggest mystery is the Mount Chiliad mural. Over the years, it sparked tons of theories, and Rockstar even referenced it in GTA Online updates. However, it looks like this mystery might continue in GTA 6 as well. Some fans noticed it; if you carefully zoom in on one of the scenes from Trailer 2, you can spot the top of the Mount Chiliad mural.

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

GTA Online References

Some fans also noticed that the necklace Cal Hampton is wearing in a screenshot. It looks exactly like the Marble Moonstone Necklace that was added in the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties update. Even the Silver Layered Necklace that Lucia wore in Trailer 1 was part of that same GTA Online update.

Even the Güffy Cap, which you can again see Cal Hampton wearing here, was originally added in the 2016 Import/Export update of GTA Online. The design is slightly different, but overall it’s very similar. This shows that Rockstar isn’t bringing GTA 6 assets into GTA Online; they’re doing the opposite. They’ve been adding some GTA Online assets into GTA 6.

Political Parties

When looking at a screenshot of Ambrosia, I noticed that along with a biker gang, there are also a bunch of political signs. There are a lot of Vote Erin Henshaw posters. So yeah, it’s pretty clear that Rockstar is going to parody political parties a lot. Honestly, I wouldn’t even be surprised if we see characters parodying Trump or Biden.
