Amidst all the chaos happening within Rockstar Games, related to Union Busting, people were expecting some kind of bad news for GTA 6 as well. And now, it looks like everyone’s worst fear has taken place, as Rockstar Games has announced that GTA 6 has been delayed yet again! So without wasting time, let’s take a look at the updated release date!
GTA 6 To Release In Fall 2026
Well, every time Rockstar has made an announcement anything related to GTA 6, let’s just say it hasn’t really been positive at all. Sadly, this time wasn’t any different at all. People were expecting an announcement for pre-order dates. However, in an official tweet on X, Rockstar has announced that GTA 6 will now be releasing on 19th November, 2026.

The tweet by Rockstar Games says, “We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.” Furthermore, the tweet next to that reads, “While the wait is a little longer, we are incredibly excited for players to experience the sprawling state of Leonida and a return to modern day Vice City.”
Back in May this year, Rockstar Games had announced that GTA 6 would be releasing in May, 2026 instead of the original Fall 2025 release. But well, now with the November release date, the game will now be coming out directly in Fall 2026. As for any pre-order announcements, while Rockstar hasn’t said anything so far. However, we would still recommend keeping an eye out on their social handles, as previous track records suggest they could announce something within the next few days!
Take Two’s CEO Reacts To The Delay
Strauss Zelnick, Take Two CEO has also given out a statement to IGN. Speaking of the delay, he said, “I’m highly confident. And at the same time, there have been limited circumstances where more time was required to polish a title and make sure that it was spectacular and that time has been well-spent, when our competitors go to market before something was ready, bad things happen. That said, that said, I’m highly confident on the new date.”

Let’s just hope, Zelnick is finally confident about this particular date, and we see no more delays. You might be wondering, why am I saying that? But well, you see the last time the delay for GTA 6 was announced, Zelnick had released a similar statement. And at that time too, he stated that he’s confident with the release date for the game.
