10 Crazy GTA 6 Fan Theories That Change Everything

Ever since GTA 6 dropped its second trailer and those 70 screenshots, there have been all sorts of fan theories. So we decided to check them in detail. There’s a ton to cover because we picked out the 10 best GTA 6 theories. We’re gonna break them all down in detail, so stick around till the end. As you’re going to want to check all these GTA 6 fan theories out in detail!

Phil Cassidy is Back?

Let’s kick things off with the most talked-about and actually kinda possible theory, which is the return of Phil Cassidy. So, for anyone who doesn’t know, there’s a scene in the trailer where you can spot an ad for Phil’s Shooting Range playing on a TV, and that totally blew the minds of a bunch of OG fans. People think this is Rockstar dropping a subtle hint that Phil Cassidy, the gun dealer from Vice City and Liberty City Stories, might show up again.

But if we look at the timeline, Phil physically coming back in GTA 6’s modern-day setting isn’t just unlikely, it’s basically impossible. Cause even back in the OG Vice City days, he wasn’t exactly young, plus he lost his arm in one of the missions. Meanwhile, the guy we see in the trailer has both arms intact. So yeah, the exact same Phil can’t really show up here. But knowing Rockstar, they could easily bring his legacy back in some other way. Maybe his family, like his son or even a hardcore fan, is running the shooting range now.

Male Strippers

iFruit Radio GTA 6

Then there’s this pretty wild theory that the game might actually have male strippers. Yep, you heard that right. This whole idea popped up after fans spotted a strip club in one of the Port Gelhorn screenshots. If you look closely, there’s a poster on the right side of the gate with a dude on it, and it literally says ladies night.

Honestly, it kinda makes sense to have male strippers this time, since we’ve also got Lucia. She’s probably thinking, Why should the guys have all the fun, right? Plus, the Game Roll leaks basically confirmed male strippers are gonna be in the game. They even mentioned there’s gonna be some kind of relationship meter. So, hitting up the strip club will probably affect that in some way, whether it’s Jason going there or Lucia.

Jason Stole Michael’s Boat

Then there’s this theory going around that maybe Jason’s the one who actually stole Michael’s boat from GTA 5, and honestly, I’m kinda starting to believe it too. Remember that Father Son mission in GTA 5 where some dudes jack Michael’s boat? Michael and Franklin chase them down but only manage to save Jimmy, not the boat. Well, we spotted a super similar boat twice in GTA 6 Trailer 2.

Maybe Rockstar just threw it in as a little Easter egg. But it could also totally be that Brian hired Jason and Cal to steal that boat. Or maybe even before Jason jumped into the whole crime world, Brian had his guys swipe it. The dude owns his own hangar with boats and planes, and everything. So yeah, this actually feels pretty possible.

Children In GTA 6

Then, a lot of people think we might actually see kids in GTA 6. That’s because in the GTA 6 trailer, there was this short dude that fans are convinced is a kid, and in the new screenshots, people are guessing the same thing. Now, if we look at Rockstar’s past games, we’ve never really had kids wandering around in any GTA during free roam. The only times we ever saw them were in cutscenes, like Jill in GTA 4 and that one scene in Vice City Stories.

But if you look at RDR2, probably the most famous kid is Jack Marston, plus you can spot kids around Saint Denis. And on top of that, there are already rumors that Lucia might have had or still has a kid. So there’s definitely a chance GTA 6 could be the first GTA where we actually see kids. Though honestly, we think they probably won’t be in free roam. More likely, they’ll just pop up in certain areas or specific story segments.

RDR & GTA In The Same Universe

GTA 6 Easter Eggs

Now, the whole theory that RDR and GTA exist in the same universe isn’t really new. People have been debating it forever, especially since Rockstar loves dropping references to both games. Well, now GTA 6 has started showing RDR references too. Like in one screenshot, you can spot some dollar bills. Just like in real life, these bills have presidents on them. The crazy part is, the presidents on GTA 6’s dollar bills are the same ones who were around during RDR2’s timeline. You can see that the ten-dollar bill has President Thaddeus Waxman on it, who was president during the events of RDR2.

And the one-dollar bill has President Franklin Hardin, who became president before RDR2’s story, which is why he shows up on RDR2’s ten-dollar bills too. Actually, those same presidents were even on the hundred-dollar bills in GTA Online’s The Contract update. On top of that, the weapons in GTA 6 are made by the same manufacturer as RDR2. It’s called Duke, and you can spot their logo on GTA 6 guns too. So, because of all this, a lot of people are convinced GTA and RDR really do share the same universe. Of course, to be 100 percent sure, we’d need some official mission or content straight from Rockstar.

Will Tommy Vercetti Return?

Now, the most talked-about theory by far is whether Tommy Vercetti is actually coming back in GTA 6. Look, Rockstar’s already made it pretty clear that games like GTA: Vice City were part of the old 3D universe, while GTA 4 and GTA 5 are set in the HD universe. And there’s this kinda unwritten Rockstar rule that any character who’s had a proper model in cutscenes or gameplay in one universe doesn’t show up in another. Tommy was literally the playable protagonist, so his showing up in GTA 6 is basically impossible.

Sure, we might get some references or Easter eggs, like how GTA 4 had a CJ poster or GTA 5 had CJ’s toothpaste. Fans are still speculating, though, saying maybe Tommy could show up as a cameo or some side character. But even if we ignore the whole universe rule, there’s still the fact that his original voice actor, Ray Liotta, has passed away. Still, we’re pretty confident we’ll see a bunch of Easter eggs about him. By the end of Vice City’s story, Tommy had become a huge kingpin, so it totally makes sense for the game to drop little nods to his legacy.

Jason is A Cop

Then let’s talk about a theory that’s literally taken over the whole internet, which is that Jason might actually be an undercover cop. Starting with his background, it’s pretty clear from his army experience, his tattoos, and his whole personality. And honestly, in the GTA world, it’s not a big stretch for someone with a military past to end up in law enforcement or some undercover gig. Even Trevor was in the Air Force before running jobs for the FIB. So in the trailer, we find out Jason lives in Leonida Keys and works for this smuggler named Brian, who’s obviously running some illegal racket.

So the real question is, why would a guy like Jason, with that kind of background, be working for Brian? Unless he’s on a mission to take down the whole operation from the inside. There’s also the way Jason handles situations super calmly, unlike Lucia who’s way more emotional. Maybe that calm vibe comes straight from his training. Sure, his bio says that when he was younger, he used to get mixed up in shady stuff, but just looking at him now, it’s obvious he’s stayed disciplined even after leaving the army. Plus, there are a few scenes with cops where people think you can actually spot him, just his back, though.

“I seen you here before?”

GTA 6 Fan Theories

Here’s another example, the scene that’s pretty much melted every fan’s brain. If Jason really is an undercover cop, then it also makes a ton of sense that he might’ve already been to jail before, either on some mission or in his own messed-up past. Some people even think Jason was the one who got Lucia arrested in the first place, which is why that prison guard asks her if he’s seen her there before.

On top of that, in trailer 2, there’s this moment where Lucia casually says to Jason, You broke my nose. So maybe Jason’s role isn’t just about being her partner; it could also be about betrayal, where he actually handed Lucia over to the system, and maybe she cleaned up her act a bit, which is why she got out on parole so fast. And c’mon, it’s a Rockstar game, so betrayal and revenge are pretty much guaranteed.

Liberty City Is Back

There are also some people who believe Liberty City is making a comeback. As there’s actually a bunch of little hints backing that up. In one of the sequences from the Trailer,  there’s a truck where the supercar’s getting stolen, surprisingly, the license plate is from Liberty City. Then, if you check out Lucia’s bio, it says she’s originally from Liberty City. There’s also that pic of a biker wearing a Liberty City cap. Plus, not too long ago, a Liberty City mod for GTA 5 got taken down.

So who knows, maybe Liberty City is coming back. Rockstar’s done stuff like this before anyway. Remember how they briefly showed Liberty City in San Andreas? So it could be kinda like how GTA 5 had missions in North Yankton. GTA 6 might show Liberty City for a bit, too, maybe in Lucia’s flashback scenes. Someone even pointed out that on the website, it says, tour a few of the must-see destinations across the Sunshine State. Which probably means those six locations they showed aren’t the only ones, and there might be more.

Bonnie & Clyde Ending

The last theory on this list is the one we’re all kinda scared of, because if it turns out to be true, it’s gonna hit hard. We’re talking about Jason and Lucia’s story ending like the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. Honestly, from everything we’ve seen so far, it feels like that’s exactly where this is headed. Throughout the trailers, Jason and Lucia seem way more like partners in crime. So if you know the real Bonnie and Clyde story, you know they were a criminal couple too. Their lives ended in a super tragic, violent police shootout.

Even check out GTA 6’s release date, May 26. That’s literally the same day Bonnie and Clyde’s funeral happened. So maybe Rockstar’s planning to leave us with that same kind of emotional punch. Especially when you look at that trust scene, it’s obvious their relationship is deeper than just friendship or romance. And if Jason really does turn out to be a cop, that ending’s gonna get even crazier. Like a double twist where Lucia never even knew her partner was undercover. Both of them dying would be tragic, but also a kind of poetic closure. And honestly, that type of dark ending fits Rockstar’s storytelling style.
