Given the hype surrounding GTA 6, industry analysts are already expecting record-breaking sales for the game! After it was revealed that GTA 5 has sold over 210 million copies, it is expected that GTA 6 will easily sell over 40 million copies in the first year itself. In a new interview, Hollywood giant Craig Mazin, the creator of the Last of Us TV show, gave his thoughts on GTA 6’s lifetime sales while comparing it to the Bible! Let’s see what he said.
Bible vs GTA 6…?
Mazin was recently in an interview with Variety, while talking about video games, he said, “I think Hollywood will be very carefully watching what happens with ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ [this fall] because I’m just gonna go out on a limb here and say that ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ will be the largest selling piece of media ever — not including the Bible,”
He also gave his thoughts on the long development times required for such projects. He said, “‘Grand Theft Auto V’ came out in 2013. The size of these things requires time. And people are getting used to an interesting combination of handmade, super-attentive method of making things married to size, which again, makes things harder to do.”

While comparing it to the Bible may not be the right thing to do, it is fair to say that GTA 6’s lifetime sales could be record-breaking! In case you didn’t know, Craig Mazin is a very famous writer, director, and producer. As of now, he’s working on the Last of Us TV Show, however, he has also worked on other popular HBO shows like Chernobyl.
In other news, it was recently reported that the Nintendo Switch 2 will run all Rockstar Games titles on launch. The original Switch library had LA Noire, GTA Trilogy: Definitive Edition, and Red Dead Redemption. Given the newer Switch 2’s beefier specs, fans are waiting for Rockstar to port even more of their games, like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2!
