If you’ve been following the recent news related to Rockstar Games, then I’m sure you must have heard about the Union Busting situation over there! TLDR: Rockstar found out that a bunch of their employees were creating a union, and they fired them recently. However, ever since then, there has been a lot of updates to this case. Just a few hours back, the alleged Discord messages were revealed of the fired Rockstar employees!
Discord Messages Of Fired Rockstar Employees
So let’s take a look at the timeline here first, because that’s very important! You see the alleged Discord group has been around for quite a few years now. It includes employees from Rockstar Games, and the IWGB (Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain). Apparently it was created, so that the employees could highlight all the issues within the workplace.

But something unexpected happened about a month ago. So Rockstar Games use to have some internal Slack Channels which included hobbies and pet groups in their official work Slack. However they decided to take them off, calling them a “productivity hit”. The Union members obviously weren’t happy with it, and they raised it in the Discord group.
Not only that, but the Policy change notice, which included information about closure of these channels was also sent. From there, one of the Union members, apparently reported it directly to Rockstar Games, after which an investigation was launched. Rest of the story plays forward, as a few weeks later, 34 employees were fired for gross misconduct linked to the server.
