7 Problems Rockstar Needs To Fix Before GTA 6

These days, every GTA fan on the internet just wants one thing, the release of GTA 6. We all just want to play it and experience what it’s like. But before GTA 6 actually launches, there are a few things Rockstar really needs to fix. For example, the Rockstar Games Launcher, honestly, one of the worst products they’ve ever made. Or even the corruption happening inside Rockstar Support. Because if these issues don’t get sorted out, or if Rockstar doesn’t come up with a clear plan to handle them, a lot of fans are gonna end up disappointed after GTA 6 drops.

Corrupt Rockstar Support

Now imagine you can’t log into the game or something’s going wrong when you try to launch it. Usually, in that case, we’d first try to troubleshoot it ourselves, ask an expert, or look it up online. But the most obvious and reliable option would be customer support. And in this case, that means Rockstar Support. Most big companies usually tie up with third-party firms for customer support, and those firms typically handle minor issues like server problems, login errors, or other small glitches. So these third-party teams actually have access to a lot of your details, which helps them solve your issues faster. But what if the employees at these third-party companies start misusing that data? Like selling it on the black market, or even selling your account, cosmetics, or crews?

Fired Rockstar Employees Stories

Because YouTuber Mors Mutual Insurance actually accused Rockstar’s Social Club and Rockstar Support of being involved in corruption. In his video, he claimed that Rockstar’s Social Club had been compromised years ago, which allowed hackers to access user info and accounts. Because of that, tons of players lost their accounts, and those hackers even started selling them. On top of that, several Rockstar Support employees were allegedly part of this whole scandal, giving hackers admin access in exchange for money. That’s how the hackers even took control of Rockstar’s official crew and demanded a ransom of ten thousand dollars. But instead of stopping those hackers, Rockstar just deleted the entire crew. Now, everything we’re talking about here is based on that video, so we can’t really confirm whether it’s true or not. Anyway, if something like this has ever happened to you, drop it in the comments.

Bugged Rockstar Games Launcher

Nice one, Rockstar. But if we really want that smooth and immersive experience in GTA 6, this thing seriously needs to be fixed. All these small issues people keep facing need to be sorted out. Sometimes it bugs out because of sound driver issues, sometimes it just won’t load, and most of the time it’s stuck in offline mode. Now imagine GTA 6 just launched on PC today, and your Rockstar Games Launcher throws an offline error. You’d be so pissed, right?

Rockstar New Website Design

Even though every Rockstar game has basically been a masterpiece, there’s still one simple product that’s enough to ruin their whole reputation. You’ve probably guessed it already—it’s our wonderful Rockstar Games Launcher. It doesn’t open because it sucks. You can’t log in because it sucks. The download speed is trash because it sucks. It doesn’t have Discord rich presence because well, okay fine, the recent update finally added Discord rich presence and better support for games bought from other platforms.

Cheaters and Hackers

Now imagine you’re just vibing, having a chill ride in GTA Online, and out of nowhere someone shows up and boom—you’re wasted. Yeah, that’s basically an everyday thing for GTA Online players because hackers and cheaters have always been a problem. These guys are seriously annoying. Some use mod menus, some mess with money, and others tweak health or location data. Then you’ve got teleportation and even God mode cheats.

Set a Savings Goal and Timeline

The main issue is that GTA Online is built on GTA 5’s single-player base, and in single-player, almost all the data is client-side. That’s why hacking and cheating in GTA Online are so common. Because of that, a lot of players prefer playing in Public Solo sessions. But that’s not really a solution—multiplayer games are meant to be played with other people, not alone. So in GTA 6 Online, Rockstar really needs to put in a solid anti-cheat system. Because honestly, nothing ruins the fun faster than getting annoyed by hackers in your game.

Lawsuit Against Modders

And speaking of Online, in GTA Online we obviously can’t use mods since they count as hacks or cheats. But now Rockstar and their parent company, Take-Two Interactive, don’t even leave the single-player modding community alone. You’ve probably seen or heard about the legal cases against modders or how some popular mods got banned. It’s honestly such a bad way to treat the people who pour their passion and love into the game without expecting any money or fame in return. A big reason GTA games are still alive in the gaming community today is because of mods.

GTA 5 Random Events: Tips and Tricks for Players

I mean, after finishing the single-player, what else are you gonna do in the game? That’s where mods come in. You want new cars? Cool, there’s a mod for that. Want better graphics? Yep, there’s a mod for that too. Want to build real-life cities in GTA 5? Cool, you can do that with a mod as well. Want to explore Vice City or Liberty City inside GTA 5, or play the entire GTA map in one game? Ouch, not anymore—because Rockstar banned them. Oh, and if you were planning to improve GTA 3 or Vice City with mods, yeah, that’s not happening either, or Rockstar might sue you. Now imagine if this same thing keeps happening after GTA 6 comes out—what then?

Death of FiveM

Rockstar Games’ acquisition of the FiveM platform, cfx.re, has been controversial and messy from the start. At first, Rockstar said they bought it to improve the overall GTA Online experience. But according to reports, the platform slowly started dying out. New updates stopped coming, and security issues began to pile up. After the purchase, things between Rockstar and FiveM’s founder apparently went downhill fast.

Unfortunate Downfall of FiveM

About six months after the acquisition, Rockstar fired the founder and accused him of violating contract terms while also saying he was emotionally and mentally unstable. Around that same time, leaks started surfacing claiming that Rockstar was developing its own RP platform called ROME—short for Rockstar Online Modding Engine. Some people even believe Rockstar actually wants to shut down FiveM completely, or at least push their new leaked platform instead. I think Rockstar really needs to clear this up for the community, because RP servers are going to play a huge role in GTA 6.

Bandwidth Issue

Then you’ve probably seen that Dan Houser interview with IGN, where he said Bully 2 never happened because of bandwidth issues. Basically, there weren’t enough people in leadership or on the top creative team, which made it hard for them to focus on multiple projects at once. Now, that same bandwidth problem should definitely not affect GTA 6. Otherwise, we might never get a proper single-player DLC for it.

The Legacy of Heists in GTA

Or even worse, future Rockstar games might keep releasing with the same 6–7 year gap. We get that these are complex issues only the team itself can fully understand, but it would’ve been so great if they could fix this. Imagine getting a new game every 2–3 years, or at least a proper remaster of the older ones. That would’ve been perfect.

Useful Mobile Companion

For both GTA 5 and RDR2, Rockstar made companion apps for Android and iOS. In GTA 5’s iFruit app, we could play with Chop and even customize our cars through Los Santos Customs. In RDR2’s companion app, we could track our character stats, check the in-game journal, access the game manual, browse shops, and explore maps. But honestly, apart from that, the apps were kind of pointless. They didn’t really grab players’ attention, and eventually, iFruit got shut down in 2022—and RDR2’s companion app followed the same year.

GTA 6 Xbox Cloud Gaming

Most likely, Rockstar will release a similar companion app for GTA 6 too. But this time, they really need to make it more interesting with features that actually attract players. Since social media will play a big role in GTA 6, the app could become even more useful. Like imagine being able to manage your in-game social media from the app itself, or if it worked like your in-game phone, or even let you customize your character directly. There are so many ways to make a companion app more functional. What Rockstar really needs is a solid, well-thought-out design. By the way, what kind of features would you want to see in a companion app like that? For me, I’d love to have mini-games you can actually play in it.

But honestly, even more important than all that is the game map. Rockstar can’t afford to repeat the same map mistakes from their older games. Check out our dedicated post on the same to know more about it: Map Mistakes Rockstar Should Avoid In GTA 6
