Artificial Intelligence, popularly known as AI is a very hot topic in the world right now. New developments are also being made everyday, not only that but AI has also started to appear in video games, with a few developers taking the help of AI in the development of their game. A few speculations were being made about the involvement of AI in GTA 6 as well, and recently in an interview, Take Two’s Boss also made a few comments regarding the same, let’s see what he had to say!
Strauss Zelnick on involvement of AI in GTA 6
Take Two’s Boss Strauss Zelnick made an appearance on CNBC’s Squawk Box show, in which he was questioned about their upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6, like the involvement of AI and a few other things.
Upon being asked about the involvement of AI in the graphics of their game, Zelnick very clearly stated that, “We’ve been using digital tools for since the very beginning. I would say the interactive entertainment business in an innovator within what people call AI now. I don’t doubt we’ll continue to innovate. I think it is worth noting though the genius is human. The tools might be digital but the creative genius is human.”
Not only this, but he was also asked about the Voice Actors Strike which is also related to the usage of AI in video games. In regards to that, he said “we believe in protecting humans and paying human beings and we believe we ought to pay for their work if it’s replicated by AI after the work is done so that is the right thing to do. We don’t think it is right to ask someone to perform once and use their work over and over again and not pay for it. That’s not right.”
