Former Rockstar Developer, Leslie Benzies who has worked very closely with Rockstar Games in the past, is now working on a new game called “MindsEye”. He was involved with the production of the GTA series, and has worked on every major GTA game including GTA 5, he has also worked on Red Dead Redemption. He left Rockstar in 2014, after his work on GTA 5 and is currently working at his new company, “Build a Rocket Boy”. The company announced their new game MindsEye, back in 2023 and recently, the game got a new story and gameplay trailer, so let’s take a look at it!
New Look at the Upcoming Game MindsEye
Build a Rocket Boy, the studio that is currently working on the upcoming game, MindsEye, released a story reveal trailer, and along with that, they also gave us a new look at the gameplay, as they released a trailer at PlayStation’s State of Play event which happened on 12th February.
While the story trailer focuses on the story of the game, the other trailer showcases the in-game footage along with the gameplay. There are a lot of high-end cinematics in the trailer and along with that we also get to see the character driving a car. There are a lot of “high-octane chases and explosions” as described by Leslie himself! We’ve attached some images from the trailer, you can check out the entire gameplay trailer too!
Aside from this, the PlayStation Blog also gave us some new information about the main character of the game, Jacob Diaz, the blog post reads, “At the heart of MindsEye is Jacob Diaz, a former soldier who finds himself haunted by flashbacks of a covert mission that changed his life forever. Fitted with the mysterious neural implant, known as the MindsEye, Jacob is plagued by fragmented memories and is desperate to uncover the truth about his past.”
The game MindsEye is being made by Leslie’s company, however IO Interactive are the ones that are publishing the game! Currently the game is set to release sometime in the summer of 2025, the studio has not specified the exact release date as of now. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, and along with that it will also release on PC.
The Steam Page for the game is live as well! According to the description of the Steam page, “MindsEye is a story-driven, action-adventure thriller, set in a fictional near-future Americana. Featuring best-in-class cinematics, high octane driving, and explosive combat from legendary game director Leslie Benzies.”

As of now, the studio is currently working on two projects, one of them being the game MindsEye, along with that they are also working on “Everywhere”, which is a platform like Roblox and is being called the “Big Budget Roblox”, however, as of now the developers did not talk anything about that in the State of Play event.
