Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick Shares His Thoughts On The GTA 6 Delay

The GTA 6 delay has taken the video gaming industry by storm! On one hand, gamers worldwide are sad to hear about the news. But on the other hand, other video game publishers are happy, as it leaves room for them to release their games towards the end of the year. Between all this, Take-Two’s CEO has finally broken his silence and has talked about the delay. Let’s hear what Zelnick said about the GTA 6 delay.

Zelnick On GTA 6 Delay

GTA 6 Animation TechZelnick’s comment on the matter was first spotted by Ben (@videotechuk) via X. In a press release, Zenlick acknowledged the GTA 6 delay and also shared his thoughts on the same. He said, “We support fully Rockstar Games taking additional time to realize their creative vision for Grand Theft Auto VI, which promises to be a groundbreaking, blockbuster entertainment experience that exceeds audience expectations,” 

Furthermore, he also said, “While we take the movement of our titles seriously and appreciate the vast and deep global anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence.” Rumours about a delay for GTA 6 were around, but most fans did not believe them. Zelnick did say that GTA 6 was following a shorter marketing campaign, which led most to believe that the game is still on track for a Fall 2025 release.

But well, here we are, the game has indeed been delayed till next year. What’s interesting is that, very recently, a Former Rockstar developer also talked about whether the game could get delayed or not. He shared that the decision to delay GTA 4 was made just 4 months before the release. If we take a look at the timeline for both games, something similar is happening with GTA 6 right now. Let’s just hope there are no more delays!

In other news, a new GTA Online Weekly Update was released recently. The updates bring back the open-wheel races to the game. Aside from that, this week’s FIB Priority File includes the “Brute Force File”. Along with new challenges, the rewards have been updated as well. There are a bunch of discounts on some major items, too.
