Take Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, has taken legal action against a company that is known for selling GTA Online accounts with Modded money and XP. The company in question here is known as ‘PlayerAuctions‘ and along with the GTA Online account, it also provides other services, for other games to users too. Let’s deep dive into what has happened!
Take Two Takes Legal Action Against PlayerAuctions
First reported by Polygon, Take Two has taken legal action and filed a lawsuit against the company. A copy of the written complaint is available to view for everyone. In the complaint, a Take-Two lawyer states, “The website PlayerAuctions.com offers a vast online marketplace containing thousands of listings for unauthorized, infringing GTA V content – including heavily modified player accounts, in-game assets, and virtual currency – all gained by using hacking software, cheats, and technical exploits,”

Furthermore, Take Two explained their point and said, “New players can begin GTA V with billions in VC and with a massive arsenal of in-game content—such as vehicles, clothing, and weapons—configurations only possible by hacking and modifying the GTA V game in breach of the Rockstar TOS. In some cases, these listings advertise “unlock all” accounts preloaded with maxed-out character levels and virtually all in-game assets available to acquire in GTA Online. Moreover, users buying Account Boosting Services give control of their GTA V account temporarily to an unknown third party”
In other news, recently Take Two shut down the popular GTA Online Mod Menu 2Take1. This mod menu was used by cheaters to exploit the game and gain an advantage. It looks like Rockstar has been very strict against cheaters, as they also introduced their BattleEye Program on PC to detect cheaters. Well anyways, it’s good news for the players!
