GTA 5 On Steam Sets A Record Which No Other Game Ever Could

GTA 5 Enhanced edition on PC has been doing well ever since it came on March 4th! Rockstar has already started updating the game and fixing bugs. However, after the release, the game managed to set a very unique record on Steam Charts, which is very unlikely that any other game would be able to do! Let’s check what record the game has set!

GTA 5 Unique Record on Steam Charts

GTA 5 Steam Unique Record

Look, given the massive fan-base of Rockstar Games on PC, it was already known that the re-release would top Steam Charts. Since this is a free update, who wouldn’t want to update their game? However, no one expected that a unique record would be set on the same day too.

Since Rockstar had created two different applications for GTA 5 Legacy and Enhanced, both the original release and the re-release remaster somehow managed to top the Steam Charts on the same day! Now that’s a very unique record. This has never happened in the history of Steam charts, two of the same games, topping the Steam Charts!

While Skyrim may still hold the record for being released multiple times on the same platform. Counting the original release from 2011, the Special Edition from 2016 and the VR Edition from 2018. In terms of popularity alone, it is highly unlikely that this record set by GTA 5 is ever going to be dethroned!

Even though the Steam numbers might be great for the Enhanced edition, something that is not good is the reviews for the game. Despite being a free upgrade, most players are unhappy with the quality of the enhanced edition. As of now, the game has over 10,000 reviews and most of the reviews are ‘Mixed‘. This is likely because of the removal of a few features which we covered in our GTA 5 Enhanced Edition PC Details post.
