Former Rockstar Developer Believes GTA 6 Doesn’t Need A Trailer 2 Before Release

Fans have been waiting for new GTA 6 content ever since Trailer 1 came out back in 2023. The wait for Trailer 2 has haunted fans for over 500 days now, and gamers have been demanding Rockstar for an update ever since. But a Former Rockstar developer believes that GTA 6 doesn’t need any new trailers now, given the hype surrounding the game. Let’s see what he said!

Former Rockstar Dev On GTA 6

Obbe Vermeij is a former Rockstar Games developer who has worked on games like GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas and 4. He was recently discussing about his experience working on GTA 4, as it was the game’s 17th Anniversary! But towards the end of his tweet, he also mentioned GTA 6, and gave his thoughts.

He tweeted and said that Rockstar shouldn’t release any further trailers for the game, given the hype around the game. He said, “If it was my call I wouldn’t release any additional trailers. There is more than enough hype around VI and the element of surprise is going to make the release only bigger as an event.”

Along with that, he also talked about the release date for the game. He first mentioned how GTA 4 was originally delayed by 6 months, and said that something similar could happen with GTA 6 as well. His exact words were, “I’m guessing decision-day for VI will be similar. Fingers crossed for Take2’s August earnings report.”

In other news, it was recently reported that Borderlands 4 will release 2 weeks early. Ever since then, fans have started to speculate. Suggesting that this move has most likely been done to make space for GTA 6. However, Gearbox’s CEO Randy Pitchford later clarified this issue. He said that the decision to move up the release date was not made because of any other game release.
