New Details About MindsEye
In case, you didn’t know, Edge is a UK-based magazine, published by Future PLC. The magazine has about 13 issues every year, and the latest issue has been released very recently. The new issue of the Edge Magazine has MindsEye as its cover page, and along with that, it has a 16-page feature revealing information about the game.
Linear Story, No Open World:
Well, first of all, it has been revealed that MindsEye is not going to be an open-world game, but instead, it will follow a linear story. The game is going to focus on cinematic action, engaging missions, and character-driven storytelling. It will be about 16 hours long and is structured like a TV series or a book. The story pacing is said to be similar to that of Mafia Definitive Edition!
The developers stated that the game will have a “faux-pen world.” While the game will follow a linear story, but, it will feel like an open-world game. According to them, the game’s detailed setting and design will create the illusion of a vast space. They’ve also revealed that the game world will be filled with NPCs following routines, working businesses and more. Each mission will take the player to different parts of the city, so it won’t feel like a typical linear game.
Game Engine Details:
As for the game engine, it is being built upon Unreal Engine 5.4, the latest version of the engine. The magazine reveals that the game is going to feature the driving system which is based on custom vehicle physics, a new feature of the engine. In simpler terms, it means that every car is designed to respond uniquely. If released in the given time, MindsEye could be the first game to use the latest Unreal Engine 5.4.
