With the release of GTA 5 Enhanced, the star of the month so far has been all the new additions that the update brings. All the new ray tracing features are indeed nice to have. But well as it turns out, some experts suggest that Rockstar has hinted at some important details about GTA 6 with the release of this update. Let’s check out what they had to say!
GTA 5 Enhanced: A Preview of GTA 6

According to the experts at Digital Foundry, “A lot of care and developmental work has gone” into the Ray Tracing Global illumination feature. They further stated that so much work on a free update for an older game doesn’t make sense. So according to them, this feature has most likely been taken from GTA 6 and shown as a preview.
They gave further evidence too. According to them, in their analysis of GTA 6’s first trailer, “There’s enough evidence here to suggest that this may well be tech for the upcoming Rockstar release backported to GTA 5 on PC. So, perhaps we are actually getting a preview of the lighting technology found in GTA 6 both in terms of features we can expect and even the level of performance we can expect.”

Well aside from the graphics, Digital Foundry also talked about the performance expectations for the modern consoles. They’re still not confident about a 60fps performance mode with Ray tracing for the game on both the PS5 and the Xbox Series X. This is mainly because of the CPU limitation according to them. Ray Traced Global Illumination is heavier on the CPU side, which could most likely be the limiting factor.
