With no news regarding GTA 6 after so long, fans have been predicting that the game has likely been delayed and could be released by next year. However, in a recent interview, an analyst warned that if Rockstar does indeed delay GTA 6, then it would not be good for the gaming industry. Let’s check out what he had to say in detail!
GTA 6 delay could disrupt the Gaming Industry
In an interview with PCGamer at GDC 2025, Ben Porter an Industry Analyst had some strong views regarding the delay. He first questioned the room by saying, “If you’re a game company who’s holding its breath waiting for GTA 6 to get out, and then it gets delayed by three, four, five, six months, what do you do?”
Further stating that “You either have to be able to launch into that big black hole that’s been left open now, or you have to extend your run rate by an additional six months—I’m certain some companies are going to tank as a result of that, right?”

He ended the interview on the note saying “Everybody that we’re talking to, they’re ships trying to move out of the way of this big iceberg that is GTA 6.” In simpler terms, he means to say that most gaming companies in this day and age would not be able to survive such delays. According to him, some companies could face financial consequences in case they’re unable to adapt to the situation.
As of now, GTA 6 is scheduled to release in Fall 2025. We haven’t heard about any delay from Rockstar Games themselves. However, fans are starting to lose hope given that no date has been announced for Trailer 2 so far. Something that could bring back hope among fans is that Game Informer is coming back!
