This console generation hasn’t been great for Xbox. Well, at least in terms of sales numbers. However, it might change once Rockstar’s biggest game, GTA 6, gets released on their consoles. This was reported after an analyst suggested that GTA 6 could likely boost Xbox Series S sales! Let’s check out the report in detail.
Xbox Series S: The most accessible way to play GTA 6
Rhys Elliott, a well-known analyst, was recently interviewed by Windows Central. He pointed out and said, “Like Rockstar’s other flagship titles, GTA 6 will hit PlayStation and Xbox before it hits PC. Therefore, it could pay off for Xbox to have a significant Series S push and fire sale to tie in with GTA 6 — as one last hurrah for this generation.”
He further explained his point by saying, “The marketing team should be banging the drum, highlighting that ‘the Series S is the most accessible way to play GTA 6.’ A sub-$200 Series S could be an enticing entry point to GTA for cash-strapped consumers, of which there are many, thanks to today’s tumultuous economy and cost-of-living crisis.”

In case you aren’t aware of the Xbox Series S, it is the cheapest current generation console available in the market! The console usually retails for under $300, however, it can be purchased for even cheaper during sales. Heck, you can purchase a new Series S for cheaper than a pre-owned PS5! Well, it makes it a good deal right? Not exactly, since the cheaper price tag comes at a cost with the performance.
The performance trade-offs are the major reason why most people tend not to buy the console! However, Take Two’s CEO has assured that GTA 6 would be making its way to the Series S. In one of their earnings call, Zelnick said, “Look, we support the platforms where the consumers are for as long as they’re there, and we find a way to support platforms despite different levels of tech. Our labels are really good at that. I’m not really worried,”
In other news, GTA 5 Enhanced Edition was released for PC. While it may have been a much-awaited update, the game has already become the Worst-rated Rockstar Game on Steam. PC Gamers are not happy with some of the changes Rockstar has made.
